Dover Beach

Ah, love, let us be true
To one another! for the world, which seems
To lie before us like a land of dreams,
So various, so beautiful, so new,
Hath really neither joy, nor love, nor light,
Nor certitude, nor peace, nor help for pain;
And we are here as on a darkling plain
Swept with confused alarms of struggle and flight,
Where ignorant armies clash by night.

(no subject)

I read somewhere that it is the depressed people who see the world clearly, while  those who are not depressed skew everything they see is such a way as to make it seem more favorable to them. So, I'm not depressed, I just see the world clearly.

Get Drunk!

"Get Drunk!" Charles Baudelaire

One should always be drunk. That's all that matters;
that's our one imperative need. So as not to feel Time's
horrible burden one which breaks your shoulders and bows

you down, you must get drunk without cease.

But with what?
With wine, poetry, or virtue
as you choose.
But get drunk.

And if, at some time, on steps of a palace,
in the green grass of a ditch,
in the bleak solitude of your room,
you are waking and the drunkenness has already abated,
ask the wind, the wave, the stars, the clock,
all that which flees,
all that which groans,
all that which rolls,
all that which sings,
all that which speaks,
ask them, what time it is;
and the wind, the wave, the stars, the birds, and the clock,
they will all reply:

"It is time to get drunk!

So that you may not be the martyred slaves of Time,
get drunk, get drunk,
and never pause for rest!
With wine, poetry, or virtue,
as you choose!"

Turning leaves, clean starts, etc...

In the quest to discover the meaning of life it is sometimes necessary to set aside all that you have already done and start from scratch. Sometimes starting again gives you a fresh perspective, of course it can also be a little like shooting yourself in the foot-you cant really tell before you start out.
